Work party reminder

Hi all, just a reminder we’ve a BSC work party scheduled for Sunday 24th March 9:30-2 ish.

Work will be focusing on getting ready for the start of the season, with jobs for all skill levels, both inside & out. So if you can spare an hour or so it’d be great to see you there ……especially the newbies as it a great way to integrate into the club!

Materials and most of the tools will be proved, along with bacon rolls, tea & coffee.

Suggest you bring your old clothes (waterproof if you fancy outdoor / pontoon jobs), gloves & safety glasses. Please PM me if you’d like to be penciled in for a specific job, and if anyone has specific trailer tools / experience please shout.

Selection of jobs planned:

  • Pontoon jet wash, inspection and maintenance.
  • Preparation of flames for antifouling
  • BSC 3 RIB puncture repair
  • Boat trailer maintenance (own tools would be useful)
  • Clean cooker hoods & extracts
  • Kitchen tiling (just a little, own tools would be useful)
  • Touch up of Club house interior paintwork
  • Washing windows & front of club house.
  • Clearing of gutters
  • Security improvements
  • Ongoing maint of car park potholes
  • Garden tidy & general weeding (own tools would be useful)
  • Litter pick & rubbish removal.

Much appreciated

It was a fantastic evening last year – great fun with great food, so do come along and join us!

Thank you to those who have already booked – we look forward to seeing you.

Meeting this fridaY

Don’t forget we have our Volunteers Meeting this coming Friday 8th March at 7pm.

We invite ALL current and new parents of our juniors to attend. It’s a great way to find out how you can help – either afloat or on shore.

We run solely on volunteers and are always so grateful for any help that can be offered – however big or small.

Members rigging

We have a large number of rigs in the container that appear to belong to club members (sails and foils). Unfortunately, we are currently unable to allow storage of private rigging at the club and need to reclaim the space.

Please contact Fiona or Marcus if any of it belongs to you to arrange collection. We need it moved by the 15th March please as we intend to have a clear out and reorganisation of our storage facilities.

Many thanks,

Fiona & Marcus /

As you are all aware, we recently had the engine stolen from one of our RIBs (the biggest and most powerful). This is devastating following two previous winters where the pontoon has suffered massive damage in high winds, costing us dearly. We also had gearbox failure on another RIB at the end of last season so are needing two new engines to enable us to get sailing in April.

We would be incredibly grateful if you would follow the link below read more about it and to donate. Every amount is hugely appreciated, no matter how big or small.

Many thanks in advance.

The Sailing season kicks off on 10th April with the Wednesday night practice race.
