Calling all BSC Juniors!
The sailing season is nearly upon us and we will be holding a short briefing / introductory meeting THIS Friday, April 10th at 6pm at the Clubhouse.
The purpose of the meeting is to introduce you to your coaches / group leaders and for you to find out what you will be doing throughout the year. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have.
We look forward to seeing you (and a parent / parents) on Friday!
Marcus & Kelly
Junior Coordinators, Burnham Sailing Club
Just in case you were wondering what to do this Saturday!
Please come along and join in the Spring Work Party to get the club ready for the new sailing season.
There are lots of jobs to do both inside and outside the clubhouse so bring your overalls. We will start at around 9.30 am.
We usually have a very sociable time at these work parties so if it is a long time since you last joined in the fun or haven’t previously helped out you will be made very welcome.
It is your club so please help out (even if only for an hour or two).
Teas, coffees, bacon rolls provided.
The 2015 Programme and SI’s is now available on the BSC website by clicking on the “Documents” tab (a link is also provided below).
Printed copies will be sent out to all members shortly (as soon as they are back from the printers) along with car park stickers and dinghy park stickers.
Thank you to everyone who have renewed their membership to the Burnham on Crouch Sailing Club for 2015. Those who have yet to renew their membership please do so ASAP!

Last day to book your menu is today Thursday 12th February.

There will be a Pumphouse Work Party on the 7th and 8th of February to construct a timber floor across the tanks to allow us to make use of this space for the storage of buoys and boat “stuff” which the club owns and needs a better home for.
The timber and fixings have been ordered and will be delivered on the 5th so I will need willing helpers, with or without some knowledge of chippie work, to assist me in installing the floor. I will be there to direct operations and will bring some of the larger tools required but it would be useful if anyone wanting to get involved could bring with them perhaps a measuring tape, hammer, handsaw and a cordless drill/driver.
In order to make the best of the weekend I will be starting at 09.00 hours on Saturday but will allow the Sunday work a delayed start of 10.00 hours. As ever in the best traditions of our wonderful club, tea, coffee, snacks and butties will be supplied to all those who I think have earned them.
See you on Saturday 7th Feb
Happy New Year 2015. We are looking forward to another active year at the BSC and the Committee are working hard to ensure that it will be as successful as the previous years.
Thank you to all the members who have already submitted their 2015 subscriptions. These fall due on 1st January each year so I would like to encourage and remind all those who have yet to submit their 2015 subs to do so as soon as possible. This will help us to plan the year ahead and determine our capacity for new membership*. In particular, however, it will allow our new Junior Coordinators (Marcus Collingbourne and Kelly McPherson) to organise the Friday groups and ensure that we have adequate coaches and safety cover available.
The 2015 Sailing Program and SI’s are currently under preparation and, when received back from the printer, will be posted out together with 2015 car park and dinghy park stickers as appropriate. So please get your memberships in ASAP.
Last year we saw a growth in the number of boats racing on Wednesday evenings and our new race box team got to grips with the race management, handicapping and efficient publication of the results. So, we are excited about the prospects for great racing during 2015. (I am particularly hopeful for some wins this year!!)
*We are very keen to encourage new family memberships so for 2015 we are offering a first year membership discount for new families joining the BSC (as detailed in the most recent newsletter). If you know of any prospective new members (e.g. friends, relatives, neighbours) please encourage them to come along and join in the fun.
As notified in the December newsletter, the Burnham on Crouch Sailing Club Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 25th January 2015 at 3pm at the Clubhouse.
The agenda for the meeting can be found here: –
BSC AGM 2015 Agenda (2)
Tea and coffee will be served at the close of the meeting.

Do not forget to book for Winter Wednesday on 21st January by the 15th January. We need a minimum of 30 people to make the evening viable.
