Work Party – Thank You

Well done everybody and thanks.

About 30 members braved the cold weather and got stuck in to make Saturday’s work party VERY productive and sociable. It was great to see everybody and we got loads done: –

Container tidied and 50% painted.
Tank room tidied
Pump room tidied and shelved
Posts replaced in dinghy/car park
Hose reel mounted
Clubhouse lights cleaned
Officers board updated
Gents toilets repainted (big job well done Kayakers)
Steps “anti-slipped”
Gutters cleaned
Shrubs pruned
Screen installed
CCTV installation started
Rubbish taken to tip (more to go)
Bacon butties demolished
and more ………. 

Also, a BIG thank you to David McPherson for preparing materials and tools and  getting it all organised.

Reminder : Party Time 27th February

It will soon be party time – Work Party time!

We are planning two work parties : –

The first will be NEXT SATURDAY 27th February.

Start 9.30 – 10.00

Clubhouse tidy-up/repairs/lick of paint and some external works, tidy up, racking in the pump room……..  bring your tools (if you have any).

If you have any specific skills or want a specific job for the morning contact David McPherson on rearcommodore@burnhamsc.co.uk

To our new members, this is a great way to get to know people before the start of the season!

 

The second will be on Saturday 2nd April 2016 to prepare/launch safety boats and do any other jobs .

MAINS         Slow Roasted Chicken with Quinoa  –   Slow roasted quartered chicken marinated for 24 hrs served with seasoned quinoa new potatoes, pepper and kale.   OR

Pork Adobo   –  Chunky pork with potatoes slow cooked in soy, vinegar, onion and garlic sauce served with fragrant rice.  If there is one dish to taste when you visit the Philippines…this is it!    OR

Tomato & Chickpea Curry (V) – A light curry with chickpeas in tomato and coconut milk sauce served with rice.
