I am planning the Commodore’s Cruise on Sunday 5th June and intend that we take the flood tide to Fambridge and ebb tide home.
The good news is that this coincides with the River Festival at Fambridge Yacht Haven which is quite a spectacle. HOWEVER, it will be very busy so I need an idea of who and what boats will be joining in from the BSC in order that Fambridge can accommodate us.
The pontoons will be choc-a-bloc with boats, barges and all sorts so it likely that that us visitors will be accommodated (as far as possible) on swinging moorings or in the marina (and we can then walk round from there).
IF dinghies are joining in, depending on weather conditions, they need to be very competent sailors and supervised by parents – it is quite a long way. We will also need one or two safety boats (e.g. Volunteer and BSC1).
We aim to leave about 10:45 (HW Burnham 13:21)
It will be very busy there so please let me know in advance if you intend to participate and the size type of boat you will use so that I can coordinate with Fambridge.
