The West Wight Scow Class  Association is putting together a comprehensive history of wooden scows from the original list in George Kent’s book in 1951 which included West Wight, Cowes, Chichester, Itchenor and Burnham-on-Crouch.  They now list more than 250 scows.

They are looking for any information on scows (owned now or in the past)  – see  22 10 17 WWSC Poster

  1. My father had a West white Scow built for my and my sister’s use in the late 1950’s, sail number 263 name Elusive.
Sold the boat early 60’s, not sure who bought her.

Elusive 263 has wandered around the UK , having been in Tewkesbury for a number of years last known in 2002 in the Wirral. However we have a large gap in her life from 1964 in Burnham to 1993 in Tewkesbury, perhaps someone could help to fill in these years.
