Commodores Cruise 16th June 2018

Next Saturday 16th June is our annual Commodores cruise.
This year we are heading up to Fambridge. The plan is to meet at the BSC from about 11:00am and then we will head off up the river at around 12:00am on the flood tide. Have lunch(bring your own picnic) and then return on the ebb tide after 15:00pm and finish off the day with a bring your own food style barbeque at the club in the afternoon/evening.
We have a lot of interest already and if anyone is taking their yacht / moterboat on the cruise and are willing / able to take any passengers then please let me know so that we can take as many people as possible on the cruise this year.
Looknig forward to seeing you all next Week Alan Hanna (Commodore)

St Mathew Cup 2018

Well done the the BSC. we won the St Mathew Cup again for the 25th Time. Big thank you to everyone involved, to the racebox crew Digger and Sally, to Russ Cashel for the loan of Havanna Pappa as our comittee boat our mark layers Marcus and Phillip Harbott our shore crew Jp and Rosemary and our fabulous sailors Ian Grey and Ian Simons in chequemate and Malcom Hutchins and Ben Harden in Lady Penelope. The racing was very close with 3 of the 4 clubs all on equal points at the end of the first race and dispite the strong tides, rain and light shifty winds we managed to get all five races sailed and it was down to the final race to decide the winner. A full report of the day will be published soon.
